I am a chef, photographer and web developer living in Redding California. I love the outdoor life here in Northern California, and when I'm not in front of the stove or pushing code on my Mac, I try to get out and enjoy it.
People often ask, "What's your culinary style"? although my answer usually gets them close to the truth, It's a hard question for me to answer. I'll usually say something generic like "my culinary style is contemporary American", what ever that means and, "influenced by French and Italian cuisine". The reality is, I create straightforward menus from a variety of cuisines, and place an emphasis on using the best quality ingredients available. I'd rather go without an ingredient and change the dish I'm preparing than compromise quality. When all is said and done, the culinary space I most like to occupy is bread baking. Rustic hearth breads, multi-grain pan breads and pizza, these are a few of my favorite things.
I photograph the food I grow, the ingredients I cook with and finished plates I serve. I photograph the randomness of nature and the contrast between nature and man-made things, I especially like to photograph rust.
When I have time I continue to develop my coding skills by keeping up with the latest and upcoming versions of XHTML and CSS. I enjoy the challenges of pushing WordPress code around until I get the look and functionality I want.
